The completion of the ‘Ride 4 Laura’ fundraiser on Sunday, November 20 attracted a crowd of family, friends, sponsors, musicians and of course Laura herself and her family, who welcomed the group back with applause and cheers as they made their way across the finish line.
The celebrations continued with food and drinks provided by Pip and the staff at Hyper Hyper, Sienna made a beautiful cake depicting the journey, music was provided by jAm tArts and $600 worth of donations given to Laura.
The BaiMed sponsored cyclists Scott Barrett, Matt Bryant, Michael Crutch, Mark Brown and Anthony Chater rode from Melbourne to Nowra over eight gruelling days and covered more than 1,000 kilometres, all under the watchful eye of Chris Anderson the team’s roadie.
‘Ride 4 Laura’ was run in conjunction with the Living Care ‘Open Up Laura's World’ campaign, the money raised will fund the purchase of a beach wheelchair and portable lifter for Laura.
Organisers wished to thank the cyclists and Chris Anderson, sponsors BaiMed, Manildra, MGC civil works, The Nowra Jeweller, L.J. Tiles, Bomaderry Veterinary Hospital, Specialised Property Services, Pip and staff from Hyper Hyper, the t-shirt creators and to everyone else who helped organise, donated or was a part of this amazing event.
