The session will also focus on the use of digital resources in today’s society featuring talks from former local, bestselling author Ralph Grayden, who has chosen to exclusively publish his works in electronic form, and renowned author and blogger Allison Tait.
Library staff will be on hand to provide information on council’s Overdrive e-book download service as well as help explain many of the different e-reader options to participants.
The information session will include a fun debate on the topic of e-books versus traditional books.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Joanna Gash said the upcoming information session would provide local residents the opportunity to explore the library’s wide range of electronic resources.
“It is little secret that the use of e-readers, social media and other electronic devices is becoming extremely popular within the local community,” said Cr Gash.
“The workshop will feature industry professionals and library staff providing information on how these devices operate and the many advantages offered by electronic devices.
“Council’s libraries provide a huge selection of electronic resources available to the public and I would certainly encourage anyone with an interest in e-readers or social media to come along to the information session and learn find out more about this growing phenomenon.”
Light refreshments will be served after the e-panel.
