More than 30 sailors will represent clubs from as far north as Brisbane Waters on the Central Coast together with sailors from a number of metropolitan clubs and Basin Radio Yacht Club and, of course, their own members.
The regatta will be the culmination of a series conducted over the past year at a number of venues along the coast with skippers vying for the prestigious Traveller's Trophy as well trophies for the weekend’s competition over the two days in both scratch racing and handicap racing.
Registration and briefing will take place at 10.30am on Saturday at Tabourie Lake Motor Inn Resort and the first race will start at 11.30am. On Sunday morning races will start at 10am and racing will cease at 2pm.
A dinner for competitors will be held at the Resort on Saturday evening and a barbecue will be held after racing on Sunday afternoon.
The Basin Radio Yacht Club members were relieved and pleased to finally have a suitable day for racing on Tuesday last after many disappointing days recently due to the extremes of weather over the past weeks. Fifteen skippers started the day with fluctuating wind patterns varying from drifting to gusts of 6 knots.
The results of the day were Ken Smith Boat 129 was first with 15 points, Greg Henery Boat 142 with 21 points was second on a count back from Kevin Wingate boat 199 third also with 21 points.
