And on Wednesday members donated $1000 from the proceeds of its Black and White Charity Ball to RSL LifeCare’s Jonathan Rogers House.
“In the past we have supported a number of local organisations such as Marine Rescue, Life Education and Rotary Sunrise,” said member John Bailey.
“The ball at the Worrigee Sports Club in September was a great success and we saw it as a chance to give something to the Jonathan Rogers House.
“We try to support local charities. We also look after our own members and conduct a number of social bus trips.”
The club has been together for seven years and in that time has donated more than $10,000 to local groups.
Village manager Kristine Dinnerville-Jagger was appreciative of the donation, saying the money would be used for comfort and lifestyle of the residents.
“The government only provides so much money for care, so we will use it to make our residents more comfortable,” she said.
The dance club boasts 90 members and meets each Wednesday night at the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Junction Street, Nowra and the third Saturday night of each month.
They dance to rock ‘n’ roll, latin, new vogue and ballroom and anyone is welcome to come and try.
