Tuesday’s walking basketball is suitable for people with a disability, those who want to enjoy walking while taking part in a team sport, for people returning to sport from injury, for people who want to make friends and for community groups.
A 12 month registration for the Tuesday program costs $15 and there is a $6 fee each night you play.
Wednesday’s program is for people who have a disability, are returning from injury community health groups looking for gentle rehab and for aged care groups looking for activities and gentle exercise.
Shoalhaven Basketball’s administration manager Cheryl Hunter said the main aim is for people to have fun, get exercise and enjoy taking part in a new sport.
“It’s about doing exercise when you really don’t notice you are doing it. You are here having fun and the game will be completely modified,” she said.
