Several fishing clubs on the Far South Coast participated in the inaugural ‘Gone Fishing Day’ on Sunday with clubs around NSW getting beginners into the sport.

In Narooma, both the Narooma Sport and Game Fishing Club and the Dalmeny Fishing Club had events, while further up the coast the Tomakin Fishing Club and Tuross Head Fishing Club also participated.
Dalmeny Fishing Club hosted a Mummaga Lake Fish Off as part of the ‘Gone Fishing Day’ with beginner anglers fishing the lake from the shore under the watchful eye of club member Andrew “Thommo” Thompson.
Club publicity officer Kim Budin Thank-you to all the parents, grandparents, children and club members who braved the blustery conditions on the shores of Mummaga Lake on Sunday.
“We had a great roll up of about 40 people,” she said. “A big thank-you to the organisers for the day and club members and also a huge thank-you to Narooma Ocean Hut Compleat Angler for your generous sponsorship.”
The club held its monthly barbecue back at Club Dalmeny. Our Men's Winner for the day was Pat Maher with 140 points; Lucky Angler was Matt Close.
The Narooma Sport and Game Fishing Club members participated in DPI NSW's ‘Gone Fishing Day’ on Sunday. Members fished Wagonga Inlet and Corunna Lake for catches of tailor, bream and salmon.
Bermagui Bait & Tackle meanwhile organised a sausage sizzle on Sunday morning as part of ‘Gone Fishing Day’.
