Justin Weller (3/11) and Harrison Temple (4/30) led from the front in Berry’s first innings, dismissing the hosts at the Berry Sporting Complex for just 70.
Max Lens (17), Kieran Gray (16) and Allen Sullivan (13) were the only batsmen to post double figures scores for the hosts.
The visitors backed it up by scoring 124 in their first innings, led by Daniel May (42) and Shane Bell (28).
For Berry, Chris McCarron picked up where he left off last season, finishing with 3/22, while Joel Gray, Glenn Brandon and Nathan Thorn all chipped in two wickets.
Berry then proved why they are the reigning-premiers on day two, fighting back from 4/25 to post a handy 4/156 declared, thanks to Joel Gray (69 not out) and Glenn Brandon (63 not out).
But time proved to be the hosts biggest enemy on day two, as Norths ended the day at 7/54.
Chris McCarron was again dangerous with the cherry, claiming 4/3 from his eight overs, giving him seven wickets for the match.
He was well supported by Brian Gray, who claimed two scalps and Joel Gray, who took 1/15.
When round two action resumes, after this weekend’s representative weekend, Berry travel to Ulladulla and Norths host Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens.
