Twenty-one volunteers were keen to get in and help out on the river.
One team of volunteers repaired the fencing and staked mangroves on Numbaa Island that were damaged by the June flood.
Another team repaired the nursery and propagated 650 mangroves ready for planting early next year.
A third team collected two trailer loads of rubbish and old fencing along the river bank.
At the recent AGM Peter Hanson was elected at president, Keith Hazlewood is vice president, Ron Cowlishaw as secretary, John Tate as treasurer and Peter Jirgens as project manager.
