The event will be held on Saturday, October 8 at the Nowra Showground Added Area. With sunset happening at 7pm, everyone is invited to gather from 6.30pm.
Club member Steven Holloway said everyone is in for a treat.
“Planets Mars and Saturn will be visible in the night sky, Venus should be visible for the early birds but will set early in the evening,” he said.
“We are expecting to have four to six telescopes available for public viewing hopefully with a 12 inch scope on hand for viewing some galaxies and nebula.
“One of the telescopes will be connected to a monitor via a digital camera, handy for group viewing and the little ones.”
Entry is free however gold coin donations are appreciated. There will be sausage sizzle and cold drinks available.
The Shoalhaven Astronomers meet on the third Friday of every month at the Shoalhaven University of Wollongong campus, George Evans Road, West Nowra.
Club meetings include discussing upcoming viewing, presentations by club members, workshops and advice for beginners.
