It is 50 years since the pair walked down the aisle and said ‘I do’.
Surrounded by their closest family and friends the couple reminisced about the past and what they had achieved together.
“We met at ballroom dancing, I was 16 and he [Stephen] had just turned 18,” Mrs Gould said.
“It was at Gordon Reeves at the top of Red Rose Cafe where they had a studio.”
The couple, who have three children and six grandchildren together, agreed a successful marriage could be hard work at times.
“I think the most important thing is to respect each other,” Mrs Gould said.
“There’s been good times and there’s been hard times like everybody else, but you work at it.”
