Since retiring as an active player with the Bomaderry Cricket Club, Koglin joined the umpiring ranks with SDCU in the season 1992-93 on a local ticket. Koglin gained his NSW accreditation in 2003 and his Australian Level 2 accreditation in 2012.
Koglin has officiated in 516 matches over his umpiring career. These being may up of SDCA matches – 351 including 12 Grand Finals and 8 One Day Finals. With another 165 representative matches which include Southern Zone Junior and Senior matches, NSWCC Country Cup, Shield, Plate and Women’s carnival matches . Other matches included school matches being the Davidson Shield and Catholic Schools carnivals, PSSA and NSW CHS Girls carnivals.
