Author and journalist James Phelps will discuss his book, Australia’s Toughest Prisons: Inmates on Wednesday, September 28.
The book reveals life inside Australia’s most notorious prisons, including Grafton, Cessnock, Pentridge, Minda, Risdon, Silverwater, and Lithgow.
Some of the prisoners to be discussed include Martin Bryant who killed 35 people at Port Arthur in 1996 and the alleged hitman ‘Goldie’.
John Reginald Killick’s story of how he really escaped from Silverwater Jail in a helicopter and survived Pentridge Prison’s notorious ‘Hell Block’ will also be shared.
The author talk will begin at 5.30pm.
