THE Wollongong Lions ended more 1400 days of Bulldogs reign in South Coast AFL with a heart-stopping one point victory in the division one grand final at Nowra Showground. 

The Lions led almost all day and withstood a mighty challenge from the four time premiers to triumph 8.6 (54) to 7.11 (53).  

Lions’ Stewart Boyd claimed best on ground honours.

The Dogs and Lions put on a strong second grade decider, with the Dogs winning 8.12 (60) to 6.11 (47).
