AFTER the outstanding success of the first UBB (Ulladulla Big Bash) last year, it’s on again. The second T20 Blast competition kicks off on Friday, October 28, and registrations are open now. In this exciting modified version of the game, kids from ages 7-11 compete in teams over eight weeks, just like the real Big Bash.

The competition has been developed by Cricket Australia as a bridge between the Milo introductory cricket program and junior club cricket. In order to make it fun, safe and inclusive for everybody softer balls are used and all the equipment is provided.
The Ulladulla program will see up to 64 kids (8 teams of 8) competing against each other for the prize of being T20 Blast champions! Every team has a name including The Thunderbirds, The Jets, The Bears and last year we had our girls only team, The Diamonds.
All games take place on Friday nights from 5-6.30pm on the same ground (Lighthouse Oval). To create that authentic ‘Big Bash’ atmosphere parents are encouraged to get close to the action to cheer on their kids and high-energy music will be playing from speakers set up on the field.
During the game everybody gets a chance to bat, bowl, field and wicket-keep so kids are always in the action. The fields are smaller and shorter boundaries mean plenty of chances to score a four or smash a six!
Registration costs $99 per participant, which includes insurance, playing shirt, hat and bag. Registrations are open now at playcricket.com.au
