A composed and conservative Sharks side caused an upset against the minor-premiers in slippery and wet conditions.
The Lions stamped their authority in the early stages, as Blair Overton scored from close range and converted his own try.
Chris Bornerman posted a first half double as Emanual Saltana landed a conversion as they led the Lions by 10-6 at half-time.
Chris Mann was gifted a perfect short pass from a hard working Daniel Brown as the Lions led 12-10.
Sharks’ centres Kade Chapman and Liam Morrisy both posted crucial tries out wide as the Sharks ran out winner 22-12.
In his last game, Garry Breakspear was awarded man of the match.
Kade Sampson, Emanual Saltana, Matt Cody also stood out for the Sharks.
Daniel Brown, Ewen McCarroll, Chris Mann and Blair Overton were the Lions’ best.
