SYDNEY first-grade run machine and former-North Nowra-Cambewarra star Phil Wells will skipper a Shoalhaven All-Star team against his Bankstown Cricket Club, in a trial match to be held at Hayden Drexel Oval on Sunday, September 11.

The All-Star squad will include Bomaderry’s Nick McDonald, John Muggleton and Blake Munilla, Nowra’s Michael Coulter and Justin Weller and Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s Mathew Ganderton, Matt Tyler, Trevor Thomason, Daniel Gleeson and Paul Maiolo.
“Bankstown are always looking for preseason matches, as it’s important to get time out in the middle before the season starts,” Wells said.
“As it is a little harder to prepare wickets in Sydney, we prefer to organise fixtures at country venues in the pre-season.
“I’m pumped for the game and it’s great to be able to come back and play where I started my career and play with blokes I played with more than 10 years ago.”
