Shoalhaven City Council extended the submission period for the proposed $70 million upgrade of Artie Smith Oval and Bomaderry Sporting Complex.
Mayor Joanna Gash said council extend the submission period by an extra two weeks to give the community additional time to review the draft Masterplan and make a submission.
“I encourage local residents as well as sporting and community groups to view the draft Masterplan and let council know what they think by making a submission,” Cr Gash said.
“The draft plan seeks to develop Artie Smith Oval and Bomaderry Sporting Complex and deliver high quality sporting facilities to support local, regional and state level sport.
“Council is keen to hear from current and potential users of the sporting facilities identified in the Masterplan.”
The draft Masterplan integrates the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre with remodelled indoor aquatics and sportsground facilities to provide a 400m athletics track, open parklands with connecting shared paths, onsite car parking which encourage co-usage as well as sports training.
“In addition to the sporting facilities, a community pavilion is included in the plan which would provide support services such as aquatic, medical, physiotherapy, rehabilitation health, wellness and fitness services,” Cr Gash said.
The draft Masterplan can be viewed at council’s administration building, libraries, the Bomaderry Aquatic Centre and on council’s website at www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/Regional-Sports-and-Community-Precinct-Masterpla.
Community feedback and comments on the draft Masterplan should reference file 52005E and be forwarded to Council’s General Manager via email at council@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au or post PO Box 42, Nowra 2541.
Submissions made to council in relation to the draft plan will be considered public documents.
