A SOUTH WEST Sydney man, who pleaded guilty to supplying a prohibited drug and trying to take it into the South Nowra jail, has been given a 15-month suspended jail sentence.

Simon Yaco, 23, of Heckenberg, appeared before Judge David Frearson in Nowra District Court on Friday.
The court heard on May 24 last year, during a regular drug detection operation at the South Coast Detention Centre, Yaco was identified by a drug detection dog.
Yaco admitted to carrying drugs and produced two red balloons from his pants.
One contained 1.21grams of buprenorphine and other 1.45g of crystal like substance.
He pleaded guilty to supplying a prohibited drug, while another charge of supply was also taken into account by Judge Frearson in the sentencing.
