“The Korean War is no longer the forgotten war,” the Worrigee resident and respected veteran said.
“The war now has the recognition it always deserved.”
Mr Morris, a Korean War veteran, helped get the conflict more recognition through medal campaigns and school visits all round the country.
The Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Sang Soo Yoon, was one of the guests of honour at the service.
Mr Sang Soo Yoon said his country would never forget the sacrifice made by the Australian troops during the war.
Respect was also shown for the late Steve Dodd – a well known Shoalhaven Aboriginal veteran of the Korean conflict.
The Korean War began when North Korea invaded South Korea in June 25, 1950 and ran until July 27, 1953.
Over 17,000 Australians served during the Korean War and 340 were killed.
