The Shoalhaven’s Dr Peter Taylor has been recognised for his outstanding work in the community at the Rotary NSW Emergency Services Community Awards.

He won officer of the year for Marine Rescue NSW.
Dr Taylor is a regional first aid trainer for Marine Rescue Shoalhaven and wrote the first aid training course. He also edits the training manuals.
He has been volunteering with Marine Rescue with 1998 and is a qualified rescue vessel trainer.
He also served as a doctor with the State Emergency Service in Rockhampton.
Dr Taylor has been part of numerous other volunteer initiatives that landed him the NSW award including a cricket program for disabled children.
The award was presented in a ceremony at Darling Harbour last week.
The event is an initiative of the Rotary Districts and Clubs of NSW and is the only time all six NSW Emergency Service Agencies are recognised in a combined awards program.
