Nowra Children’s Court Magistrate David Williams heard the youth broke into a home in Jasmine Drive, Bomaderry between 6pm last Wednesday and 12.50am Thursday, while the owners were home, taking a number of items including car keys before making off in an Isuzu D-MAX ute.
Police spotted the ute in Shoalhaven Street, Nowra around 1am Thursday and started a pursuit, which travelled to Lyndhurst Drive, Bomaderry where the vehicle came to a stop and the youth and a passenger fled on foot.
The Nowra youth, who was the driver, was arrested a short distance away.
The youth was on probation at the time for a robbery in company offence.
The passenger managed to evade police.
In court the boy pleaded guilty to aggravated break and enter, police pursuit and taking and driving a vehicle without consent of owner, but pleaded not guilty to never being licenced to drive.
He also pleaded guilty to two other counts of police pursuit following an incident at Milton last December, taking and driving a vehicle without consent of owner, after taking a Nissan Qashqai from Wollongong and with larceny for taking a Mimco handbag containing an Apple iPhone 6.
Bail was not applied for and was formally refused. The matters will be back in court on August 4.
