A 39-YEAR-OLD man, who pleaded guilty to assaulting police, resisting arrest, possessing house breaking items and a fold-up knife, has been jailed for 15 months.

Troy Anthony Ridgeway, of no fixed place of abode, appeared in Nowra Local Court before Magistrate Gabriel Fleming on Wednesday.
The court heard police saw Ridgeway, who had not complied with court imposed bail conditions, riding a pushbike on Clipper Road, Nowra around 3.20am on February 6.
Police said when he saw officers he rode towards Ninevah Place, before running into a unit complex.
Police gave chase on foot and found him in the rear of another property, after he had jumped a number of fences.
During his arrest he struggled with police, throwing his elbows at officers as they attempted to place him in handcuffs and lashed out with his legs.
When police searched him they found a fold out knife in the inner lining of his shoe.
A backpack, which he was seen carrying, was found in one of the property’s yards and contained house breaking implements, including two small torches, gloves and a small yellow handled screwdriver.
Ridgeway was sentenced to 15 months’ jail with a non-parole period of 11 months.
