Christmas in July is coming to town, hosted by Shoalhaven Food House and the Tomerong Hall Committee and there’s plenty of fun for everybody.
The action will kick off on Sunday, July 31 from 10.30am to 2.30pm with music, food, stalls, free kids activities and cooking classes for adults and kids.
If you’re already a bit of a masterchef, bring along your homemade Christmas dish by 10.30am to enter in the cooking competition to be judged by Shoalhaven Slow Foods Organisation. First prize will receive a $100 voucher to spend at Shoalhaven Food House Inc.
Prepare to get creative and limber up as both art and yoga workshops will take place.
The yoga workshops will be held by Nora Devai. Everyone over the age of five is encouraged to join in on the fun. Just bring along a mat or a towel and wear comfortable clothing.
Stacie Hamilton will be running art classes, promoting arts and play for parents and their children.
Tomerong Playgroup will have a kid’s area set up from 10.30am to 12.30pm and Huskisson Girl Guides will be providing face painting. If the kids are in need of a haircut, bring them along to receive $5 cuts by qualified hairdresser, Bec Wallace.
One of the event’s organisers, Tanya Wallace said the festive event will have a strong community focus.
“The aim is to bring awareness to great wholesome living, along with connecting with local organisation and what they bring to our community through a fun family day out,” she said.
“And don’t forget to keep an eye out for a special visitor.”
Some of the many organisations joining on the day include the Tomerong Fire Brigade who have donated the space next to the hall, CWA and the Bay and Basin Community Nipper Club who will be running CPR workshops and defibrillator demonstrations.
