Warilla produced some wonderful attacking football as they have now won three of their past four matches and are in serious contention to possibly play semi-final football come the season end.
The Magpies certainly weren’t at their best as errors from inside their own half, poor discipline and letting the opposition gain easy metres on the outside flanks all contributed to a tough day at the office.
The game started at blistering speed as the Gorillas posted their first points from their first set of six, as Blair Grant was assisted by Mark Walsh who bolted through a spotted hole in the defensive line.
Grant converted his own try and the Gorillas were up 6-nil.
The Gorillas continued the rampage as they scored four more tries in the first stanza.
Gallestegui bagged a double, Aaron Henry and interchange forward Josh Dowell as Blair Grant slotted three goals from four attempts, Warilla lead 28-nil
The Magpies would have final say on the stroke of halftime as Jack Gould scored an amazing 75 metre solo try as Berry trailed by 24.
The second half was almost a carbon copy of the first, which lead to Gorillas second rower Jesse Dee to score a double in the space of three minutes and assisted Jake Kinzett for a 50-metre range four pointer.
The Gorillas extended their lead to 44-4.
Blair Grant helped Jarryd Pepper get over the white line with a nicely placed grubber kick as Warilla were up 48-4.
The Magpies made sure Warilla wouldn’t post a half century of points as Blake Dryden offloaded to lock forward Jack O’Brien who scored under the black dot.
Josh Coulter sent the ball between the sticks which secured the full time score line 48-10.
Warilla were lead by Jesse Dee, Blair Grant, Aaron Henry, Josh Kent and Mark Walsh while Blake Dryden, Jake Gould, Matt Pollard, Jake Graham were Berry’s best.
