The Jervis Bay women recently hosted the third Bowel Cancer Trivia Night at the St George's Basins Country Club and said it was well-received.
”We had about 300 people playing trivia,” she said.
“It was the night of the awful storm so we missed out on some extra people, but the night was still a success.
“Eleven people per day die from bowel cancer – it's the second highest cancer killer in Australia.

“It still amazes me that I get so much support from our local Jervis Bay community. It overwhelms me.”
Mrs Weeks said people are not often aware of the widespread rate of bowel cancer.
“The statistics are pretty horrid when you look at them,” she said.
“Eleven people per day die from bowel cancer – it's the second highest cancer killer in Australia.
“I will continue to do my best to raise awareness so less families have to go through what my family has been through.”
