Jack Matthews, 42, of Albatross Road appeared before Nowra Local Court registrar Craig Cockburn on Friday.
He didn’t enter any pleas to a charge of committing an act of aggravated cruelty against an animal and five counts of failing to provide veterinary treatment.
Court documents stated between February 19 and March 4 this year, Matthews failed to get treatment for a blue female greyhound called Shelley, which was suffering severe flea and hookworm infestations, severe anaemia, dental disease and advanced kidney disease.
Documents also stated he failed to provide veterinary treatment for four other female greyhounds who were suffering severe flea infestation, severe internal parasite infestation, skin lesions on fly bitten ears, severe dental disease and kidney disease.
Matthews didn’t enter any pleas and the matters have been adjourned until July 22.
