Following a comprehensive 30-6 victory against the Western Rams two weeks ago, the women’s team travelled Dubbo to take on the East Coast Dolphins at the weekend.
But the team wasn’t as successful this week, losing to the Dolphins 18-10, for their right to play in the country grand final this coming weekend.
Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs’ star and team captain Cheyanne Hatch said the girls hope to come back stronger next year and make it all the way to the grand final.
“The result is disappointing and I think we all wish we had the time again but it simply wasn't our day and the other team played a lot better,” Hatch said.
“Following the loss, all the girls were determined to do it all again and get that one step further.
“And I think we are very fortunate in that regard, as we have the squad to go all the way.
“The experience as a whole though was very exciting and I definitely enjoyed the experience, especially being able to captain the team and play alongside players I usually play against.
The team contains four South Coast women’s league tag players; Nowra-Bomaderry’s Talia Atfield and Milton-Ulladulla trio Cheyanne Hatch, Hannah Prouten and Georgia Thomas.
Score: East Coast Dolphins 18 (J Roswell, S Smith, A Alcorn tries; R Fuller 3 goals) defeated Greater Southern Stars 10 (A Glasson, J Rogers tries; T Atfield goal).
