Selection in the Cockatoos 23-man team for the players followed on from their participation at the Country Championships in Armidale, and the recently conducted training camp in Sydney, which was attended by 34 players.
“The players selected in the team, both new and old, all earned their spots following a number of strong performances,” new Cockatoos’ coach Mat Thomas said.
“It was pleasing to see that a number of the players selected in the Cockatoos had progressed through the country junior and colts representative ranks, which showed there was a representative pathway via country rugby.”
In other rugby news, Shoals will look to return to the winner’s circle when they play Bowral at Eridge Park on Saturday.
