United have moved into third position after recovering from their poor start to the year. United coach Trevor Skingle will be looking for continued good performances from Jordan Haddow, Dean Atkinson, Kaine Good and Nando Lattanzio.
Milton have dropped out of the top four for the first time this year after drawing two-all with Shoalhaven Heads last week. Milton could have won this game but allowed a couple of soft goals and had to settle for the draw. Nathan Hendry and Joel Wilson were both dangerous in attack last week while Peter Whitmore and Rhys Wilson were strong at the back. This should be a tight game with a draw the likely result.
Manyana and Shoalhaven Heads will meet in what is expected to be another close game.
After three losses, Manyana returned to form with a 2-1 win over Basin. They are only two points from fourth and will be looking to stay in touch with the leading sides. Coach Wayne Pennington will be looking for strong performances from Mitch Butel, Mark Dixon, Andy Hallett and Sam Swann.
Heads had a solid draw with Milton last week after going behind early. Jesse Jackson and Rafael Lombard caused problems for the Milton defence while Roy Miller and Hayden Lavender were good at the back. Heads coach Brad Banks will want these guys to be at their best this week also. These two sides are evenly matched but at home Manyana should be able to take maximum points.
Basin will host Illaroo in an important match for both sides.
Last week was the first time this year that Basin failed to score two goals which cost them a draw. The likes of Simon Cubbo, Dane McGinn, Tim White and Ben Cubbo are all quality players and will need to be at their best against a determined Illaroo side.
Illaroo played well against Huskisson a couple of weeks ago despite being beaten 3-1. Reports indicate that Illaroo had the majority of play but failed to take their chances. Coach Andrew Timbs will want his side to start taking their chances as this is obviously important in a close competition. Timbs will be looking for good performances from Aaron Crittenden, Evan Leedham, Slade Small and Jarvis Strand. This should be another close game which could also end in a draw.
The final match in this round is between Bomaderry and Gerringong.
Bomaderry pushed Huskisson all the way last week and could have come away with a draw. While Bomaderry are currently propping up the table they are only five points behind fourth. At full strength the Bomaderry side are good enough to compete with most sides however like most sides they are rarely at full strength.
Gerringong have leap frogged Culburra to take the competition lead after defeating the Cougars 2-0 last week. This win has probably installed the Gerringong side into outright favouritism. Coach Craig Farquhar is confident his side can continue their current form and remain in the top spot. They are certainly blessed with quality players including Brad Boardman, Robbie Franks, Andy Lockard, Gary Vian and Matt Jones. This game features first versus last and the final score is likely to reflect that.
