The first half of the game saw the two teams virtually go kick for kick, with Figtree leading at the main break by two points.
The second half of the game was a totally different story.
The Vikings were down to only two on the bench going into the second half and by the end of the third quarter, they had no bench with injuries taking their toll.
Figtree kicked out to a four goal lead at the end of the third quarter.
And things were no different in the fourth quarter, with Figtree running out with a win by 46 points and taking out outright fourth spot on the ladder.
Final score was Figtree 16.12-108, and the Vikings 9.8-62.
There were nine different goal kickers for the Vikings on Saturday, with Tristan Balazic, Latrell Blair, Matt Brunton, Taigen Dubbelde, James Eagleton, Ben Horton, Jonty Kelly, Michael Pelda, Luke Stevenson and Justin Weller all scoring a major.
Awards winners were Ben Horton (coach’s cup), Latrell Blair (player’s player), Tristan Balazic (East Nowra Butchery award), Callum Harper-Wirth (Coffee’liscious award) and Michael Pelda (Inspired Hair Design award)
Tomorrow, the Vikings take on cross-town rivals Bomaderry in both grades at Artie Smith Oval. The reserve grade match will kick-off at 12.15pm, before first grade starts at 2.10pm.
With the Vikings taking points in their first clash this season, Bomaderry will be out to even up the tally.
This is going to be a hard fought game, so get up to Artie Smith to support the Vikings to a win.
