The community and visitors alike lined the shoreline of Moona Moona Creek to watch and participate in an interactive photographic artwork Paint the Night, orchestrated by Sydney photographer Peter Solness who officially opened the festival.
With the full moon rising over a high tide it was picture perfect and a magical experience for all with illuminated paddle boarders, music, dancers and a soundscape by Syd Green.
Handmade lanterns, a symbol of the festival, were lit and carried from Moona Creek to the main street of Huskisson to launch the inaugural Seefood at Seechange food festival event in Owen Street, Huskisson.
Crowds of well over 4000 people dined, danced and enjoyed the vibrant and carnival atmosphere in and around the main street in Huskisson.
Restaurants and cafes served a range of fabulous food styles and were overjoyed by the response from the community.
Coordinator of the Seefood at Seechange event, Di Laver and her hardworking team, are to be congratulated for getting together such an amazing event.
Earlier in the day at the Coming Home event, inspiring young people who grew up and were educated in the area spoke of their achievements since then.
