Props are made, event volunteers recruited and last minute preparations are underway.
The last festival is a hard act to follow but enthusiasm from local artists as well as well known artists from elsewhere has been tremendous.
This year’s festival will have even more exhibitions, performances and community events than ever before and there will be 100 events over 24 days including four weekends.
SeeChange 2016 starts on Friday May 20 when most of the exhibitions will open and Boobook on Owen and Huskisson Gallery and Picture Framers will kick off the many special launches hosted by the exhibiting artists during the festival.
The official opening will be on Saturday May 21 and will be a huge day and night of events.
There will be more exhibition launches in the morning and at 1pm Coming Home 2016 will be held and this is a staged event at the Huskisson Community Hall, the second in the series as it was so popular last time.
The quick witted Sam Wilson will introduce the audience to inspiring young adults who grew up and were educated in the Shoalhaven and are well on the way to success and achieving great things.
Following this, the ‘Paint The Night’ opening ceremony takes place at Moona Moona Creek at dusk.
It’s a free community event for everyone but 60 lucky people will be get to take part in a special light painting activity directed by Peter Solness and 15 photographers will be invited to work with Peter.
The festival’s web page, www.seechange festival.org.au, provides the details of how to apply.
The event will involve some wonderful sound and lighting effects and regardless of whether you participate or not it will be a spectacle not to be missed.
A major new initiative this year is SeeFood@SeeChange presented by Huskisson Food Network and Company where the main streets of Huskisson will be a buzz with food, music events and activities for all ages.
