In an intense game of rugby League, both teams found it hard to maintain possession in windy conditions and would of have been disappointed with their execution.
For the home side, it was their second draw of the season in just three matches, as they turned in an improved second half performance to turn a four-point deficit at half time into a draw.
While the Gorillas were force to defend on their own goal line for long periods due to conceding multiple penalties.
After forcing a mistake in opposition territory, Warilla lock forward Mark Walsh set up Tyson Brown on the western touchline as the Gorillas gained an early lead of 4-nil.
The home team hit back straight away after receiving three penalties in a row and Matt Morris, in his first grade debut, made a 30 metre break for winger Andrew Mendes to score in the corner to lock the scores at 4-all.
The Knights coughed up possession on the halfway mark shortly after, leading to Warilla fullback Chad Lisch placing a grubber which rebounded off a Knights defender, before Nathan Gallastegui gathered and sprinted 30 metres, to give the Gorillas an 8-4 lead at the break.
The Gorillas posted first points in the second stanza, when winger Nathan Gallastegui scored his second try for the day in the corner, as the visitors extended their lead to eight.
The men in red and black hit straight back as Aaron Ditton beat four defenders to cross the tryline.
It was a tough day for the goal kickers but fullback Tom Atkins finally made the first conversion of the day and Knights trailed 12-10.
The clock stopped on multiple occasions as both teams became frustrated, leading to a few push and shoves.
In the closing minutes of the game, the crowd finally became animated as Warilla were penalised just 20 metres from their own goal line and Tom Atkins slotted a penalty goal to tie the scores.
Josh Toohey, Luke Muttdon, Luke Sutton and Matt Morris were the best for the Knights while Josh Kent, Mark Walsh, Ryan Hodgson and Nick Nikitaras were solid for Warilla Lake South.
