THE high flying Illawarra Cutters will head to the South Coast this weekend to play the Manly Sea Eagles at Nowra Showground on Sunday, May 1, as a part of New South Wales Rugby League's Country Round.

Bathurst, Moss Vale, Cessnock, Woy Woy and Nowra will get front row seats to see the state's best talent, as the NSWRL looks forward to the annual City-Country Origin Clash, held at Tamworth’s Scully Park on Sunday, May 8.
Originating from the country town of Junee, Cutters forward Andrew McCarthy is one of many CRL representatives in the Cutters squad and is looking forward to the occasion and the opportunity to expose the regional area to some high quality rugby league.
“ I can’t wait to play down at Nowra this Sunday,” McCarthy said
“Obviously playing down on the South Coast, there will be a fair amount of Dragons fans, so hopefully they can come out and support the Illawarra Cutters and see the talent coming through the system, as well as seeing what the competition has to offer.”
McCarthy was full of praise for the Country Round and believes it is a good initiative from the NSWRL.
“ I really enjoy participating in the Country Round as I believe it is a great initiative which gives some regional areas the opportunity to be exposed to a high quality game of football,” McCarthy said.
“It also gives fans the opportunity to see the calibre of players coming through the ranks.”
Entry is $10 (under 16s free) with kick-off at 1pm at Nowra Showground.
