The competition takes place over 15 weeks, starting in December and ending in March. At this point the teams were divided into 2 groups and they all played an extra 3 games.
Having led the way during most of the first 15 weeks, ‘Dimpled Balls’ were unlucky to lose on the final day but were the recipients of the Minor Premier prize. Additionally, David Lamb, playing for Dimpled Balls and handicapped to Plus 2, was the winner of the Ian Wenborne Trophy for Player of the Year with Colleen Locke, also in Dimpled Balls, as joint runner up with Marla Coleman.
All three players competed in all 15 early games and each had an average score in excess of 19.5 points per week. Division II was won by ‘It’s Just A Game’ who totalled 276 points to beat the ‘Carpetbaggers’ who achieved 274 points.
In Division I, for the third time in a row, the competition was won by the ‘Heads Old Team’. This team consisted of Col Waller, John Burling, Kevin Franklin, Lorraine Franklin, DeWayne Kingdom, John Gilchrist, Troy Thompson and Matt Vout. With a total of 280 points they beat the ‘Social Set’ who managed 272 points. The ladies of the ‘Chicks with Sticks’ were voted best dressed.
Balls awarded for the day’s play went to players with 20 points or more and the members were delighted to see young Jaime Griffin receive one for an outstanding 20 points. Player of the Day went to Stephen Franklin who received 1 dozen balls for his efforts.
