The first-placed Sussex proved too strong for Culburra at Sussex Inlet Oval.
After being sent in, the visitors compiled 226 in their first innings, led by a solid 59 from Jason Hornitzky.
He was well supported by team mates Gavin Kelland (51) and Dean Poll (35).
Shaun Burton (2/48) and Ron Carberry (2/11) were the pick of the bowlers for Culburra.
In response, Mark Bailey (52) and skipper John Carey (30 not out) didn’t receive much help with the willow, as Culburra were all out for 118 in the 38th over.
Kelland again dominated for his team, this time with the cherry, taking 4/36, as both Jake Westley and Jayme Mulholland claimed two scalps.
Sussex will now host Batemans Bay, who defeated Ulladulla United Golds at Surfside Oval.
Batting first, Chris Corrin’s 73 guided Ulladulla to a total of 149.
Bay pair Michael Lancaster (3/25) and Tom Purcell (3/29) both took three wickets.
In response, Batemans Bay made light work on the chase, making it to 5/192 after 59 overs. Jamie Dufield (49) was the high man, with Tom Purcell (39 not out) and Matthew Klarica (30 not out) also contributing handy knocks, in the first innings win. Jamie Jones and Jayde Tooth both took a wicket each for Sussex.
This weekend’s other semi-final will be hosted by Bomaderry at Artie Smith Oval, who proved too strong for Berry-Shoalhaven Heads in the qualifying final. After winning the toss, Bomaderry chose to bat first, making 239 from 89.1 overs. Skipper Ben Lynch top-scored with 44, as Mitchell Graham (38) and Matt Glyde (37) both scored more than 30 too. Daniel Watson claimed three wickets for Berry, while duo Lachlan Duggan and Ethan Cain both took two. The loss of early wickets put Berry on the back-foot form the start of their innings, as they were dismissed for just 90. Jordan Hockey led the way with 36 and Matthew Watson (16) and Daniel Watson (15) were the only other two batsmen to crack double figures. Donald Kennedy ripped through the batting line-up taking four wickets, for just 19 runs conceded.
Bomaderry will host Nowra, who progressed to the semi-final, despite a drawn match, thanks to their higher finishing position on the ladder to Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens. Batting first, Nowra made 274, paced by David Schofield’s 134. Shawn Higgins (5/63) and Dylan Higgins (3/26) did all they could to prevent the large total. In response, Ex-Servos were left on 9/239, with Luke Jurancic on 109 not out, when no more play was possible, handy Nowra the win.
