About 2pm a Volkswagon Australia Post vehicle was stolen from Jaycee Avenue, Nowra, while the driver was delivering a parcel.
The vehicle was then driven to a home in Sanctuary Point, where it allegedly hit two parked cars and a letter box before fleeing the scene.
Officers from Shoalhaven Highway Patrol later attempted to stop the vehicle in Nowra but the driver refused to stop.
A pursuit began, however it was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.
The van was again spotted by police in Berry, with Lake Illawarra Highway Patrol officers engaging in a pursuit with the vehicle as it travelled through Kiama.
Road spikes were deployed in an attempt to stop the van, which deflated its tyres.
The vehicle continued driving through Kiama Downs and into Minnamurra on bare rims before leaving the road at Swamp Road, hitting a fence and stopping in a paddock.
The 30-year-old female driver was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.
She was charged with stealing a motor vehicle, negligent driving, failing to exchange particulars, four counts of Skye’s Law police pursuit and an outstanding warrant.
She was refused bail and was due to appear before Wollongong Local Court on Thursday.
