Billed as the friendly show, the annual two-day show is the highlight of the Kangaroo Valley calendar and is a great family event held at the Kangaroo Valley Showground on Moss Vale Road today, Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13.
This year marks the 131st year of the Valley show and 2016 will again feature a wonderful mix of rural show traditions and contemporary community pursuits.
Both evenings feature great entertainment in the magnificent natural environment.
The Friday evening talent quest is open to all ages and organisers welcome a diverse range of acts.
There’s music at the bar on Friday night and the high excitement of the hugely popular rodeo on Saturday night.
The show will have plenty of action with equestrian events, cattle and horse judging, amusement rides and sideshow alley, the beautiful flower show, dog show and lots more fun.
The show is proudly run and organised by the Kangaroo Valley Agricultural and Horticultural Society.
The society comprises a dedicated and hard working group of locals striving to present to the public the best Kangaroo Valley has to offer.
Friday is kids’ day at the show, with push bike races, a pet show, fancy dress competition for boys and girls, dog obstacle races and the puppy and dog competition.
Why not give your kids the opportunity to be part of the traditional country fun?
On Saturday afternoon the iron person and hay stacking events offers a challenging competitive opportunity, especially for those high energy family members, open to littlies, teens and adults.
A wide range of delicious refreshments will be available, from traditional sideshow alley fare to the healthy offerings of the restful tea room in the historic Kangaroo Valley Hall, and much more in between.
The show will get underway on Friday with the junior horse events starting at 8.30am. The All Breeds Champion Dog Show will kick off Saturday’s events at 8am.
Our photographers will be about and about capturing all the show action on Friday.
