Sydney Thunder rookie Nazir Shinwari will be the special guest player for the Northern All-Stars when they take on the Southern Scorchers in the Shoalhaven District Cricket Association’s Pink Stumps Day on Sunday, February 21, at Rugby Park.

Nazir was given a rookie contract with the Thunder when he was selected from 35 players and he was also included in a 21-man squad that toured New Zealand before the season started.
Nazir has a special role as a community liaison between the Thunder and the Middle Eastern community, encouraging people from different countries to play.
Originally from Afghanistan, Nazir has taken part in Pink Stumps Day once before and was a Blacktown clubmate of All-Stars captain Scott Fagerlund in 2012.
The T20 main game will be preceded by a Golden Oldies 10--overs-a-side match that will start at 11am.
Hot food and drinks will be available on the day. Rugby Park is located on Flinders Road, South Nowra.
It’s a great family day out and all proceeds are donated to the McGrath Foundation for provision of breast care nurses throughout Australian communities.
With two rounds remaining in the season after this weekend competition ladders are tight across all grades. In first grade, whilst Berry-Shoalhaven Heads are clearly ahead, the other three spots for semi-finals are definitely up for grabs, with 5th placed Batemans Bay not out of contention.
