Patterson topped scored with 47 runs, as his team posted 252 in their first innings.
Team mates Jason Dohnohue and Campbell Eldred contributed 39 and 41 respectively.
Tobias Hanger was the shining light for Basin with the ball, taking 5/57, while Torryn Fisher 2/43.
At stumps, Basin ended the day at 4/51, as Daniel Crick top-scored with 21 and Patterson secured 2/4 for the visitors.
Elsewhere at Artie Smith Oval, Nowra had a solid day with the willow in hand against Ulladulla United Blues.
After winning the toss, Nowra ended the day at 8/199, thanks to 65 not out from Geoff Rumble and 39 from Garry Downey.
With the cherry, Ulladulla was led by duo Bryce Goldfinch and Darren Smith, with 2/31 and 2/48 respectively.
The final match of the grade pitted the unbeaten league-leaders Ulladulla United Golds against the third-placed Berry-Shoalhaven Heads.
At the Milton Showground, the hosts won the toss and chose to bat first.
Despite a strong start from opener Chris Jones (46), Ulladulla were dismissed for 138 in the 47th over.
Shann Carriage and his 35 runs helped the hosts post a competitive total.
But the hosts proved why they are the team to beat in this grade, ripping-through their opponents line-up for just 32.
Peter Richardson (17) was the only batsmen to reach double figures, as his team were all out in the 27th over.
Carriage did most of the damage with 4/12, while Mike Ramsden and Anton Carriage took two wickets.
