Troy Anthony Ridgeway, of no fixed place of abode, was refused bail before Magistrate Susan McGowan in Nowra Local Court on Monday.
About 3.20pm on February 6 police allegedly saw Ridgeway, who had not complied with court imposed bail conditions, riding a pushbike on Clipper Road, Nowra.
It is alleged when he saw police he got off the bike and ran into a property in Ninevah Place.
Police gave chase on foot and found him at the rear of the property.
During his arrest he allegedly struggled with police.
Police allege when they searched him he was in possession of a fold out knife and also located a backpack which he was allegedly carrying when initially sighted, containing instruments capable of breaking into houses.
He faces two counts of resisting arrest, assaulting police, possessing housebreaking implements and carrying a cutting weapon.
He also faces charges of escaping police custody, resisting and assaulting police between 11.35am and 11.45am on January 10 and with common assault after allegedly assaulting another man between 4.20am and 4.50am on December 18.
Magistrate McGowan refused bail and he will reappear in Nowra Local Court on February 22.
