Nowra only made 84 runs in its innings at the Berry Sporting Complex and the home side in reply is 7/94.
The plan for Berry would be to make some quick runs, send Nowra back in and then strive for an outright victory.
Michael Coulter was the mainstay of the Nowra innings and made an aggressive 34 runs.
Coulter only faced 38 balls and hit four boundaries.
Scott Fagerlund with 10 runs was the only other Nowra batsman to reach double figures.
Lachlan Maddison took four wickets for Berry, while Joel Gray and Brad Carey took two each.
Berry openers Jeff Dudgeon and Duncan Maddinson got their team off to a steady start and put on 28 runs for the first wicket.
Duncan Maddinson, with 23 runs, was the first to go and Dudgeon joined him in the pavilion after he made 11 runs.
David Crapp made a vital 21 runs for the home side to give them the edge.
Jason Bell took three wickets for Nowra and will be looking for more victims on Saturday.
Bomaderry will be hopeful its 162 runs is enough to give it first innings points against Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s at Hayden Drexel Oval.
Bomaderry had several solid contributors with the bat but nobody went onto make a huge score.
Ben King-Gee 26 runs, Nick McDonald 26 runs, John Muggleton 17 runs and Jarryd Sue 36 runs all got off to good starts.
Sue was the unlucky one, after being run out just when he was starting to look good.
Trevor Thomason bowled well for Ex-Servos and picked up four important wickets.
Ex-Servos started its run chase and at stumps is 2/25.
The only thing Batemans Bay will be sad about is that Marc Stiller did not get his century against Bay and Basin at Hanging Rock.
Stiller made 95 runs during his team’s impressive 258 runs in the first innings.
Siller smashed 11 boundaries and two sixes in his powerful stay at the crease.
Sam Lee 34 runs, Greg McDonald 30 runs and Wes Holmes 39 runs all enjoyed some time out in the middle.
Shaun Brooks and Tom Mason took four wickets each for the Basin.
The Basin at stumps is 1/12 and the match continues on Saturday.
