Tuesday, February 2, was the first day of the new season for the ladies of Shoalhaven Heads Golf Club. They started with a single stableford competition and there was a field of 40 players.

Division 1 winners were Di Knoll, with 42 points, Pat Mackie, with 37 points, and Marie Miller, also with 37 points. In Division 2 Felicity Percival beat Valda Schroder on countback, both scoring 39 points with Colleen Locke in third place on 35 points.
Rosalie McIntosh was the winner in Division 3 with a score of 35 points followed by Elizabeth Dick and Julie Romanowski, both on 33 points. The Drive and Pitch prizes went to Marie Miller, Robyn Slimming and Margaret Copley with Jan Wood, Karen Hansen and Chris Davies taking the longest drives.
The Heads Vets hosted 89 golfers at Thursday’s single stableford competition. Rod Hodkinson from Jamberoo won with 43 points with Roger Millburn of Kiama on 41 points as runner-up. Men’s Drive and Pitch went to David Patton and the women’s to Maureen Latimer and Louise Barnes.
After the first round of the MSCVGA interclub comp, the Heads is 4th in the Interclub Shield, 6th in the Challenge Shield and 3rd in the Albatross Trophy.
Next Thursday’s competition is 2B Aggregate and single stableford.
A healthy turnout of 121 players on Saturday played in the single stroke monthly medal. The A Grade winners were Paul Mastrangeio who had 92/70 followed by Lachlan Maddinson with 74/70. Paul Ryan was the winner in the B Grade with a score of 86/69 and Andrew Stainthorpe from The Grange had 87/71. Chris Flavell came in first for the C Grade with a score of 91/71. Julie Anderson was the winning lady with a score of 86/68.
