Over 80 hopeful students showed off their talents and if selected will rehearse each week to create a piece for the South Coast Dance Festival and the ever-growing Southern Stars Wollongong spectacular in August and again in November in Sydney.
The school’s dance companies cater for all levels of dancing ability and the student’s emerging talents are showcased at the Nowra High School music, art, dance and drama week (MADD week), held in December.
Dance has continued to grow as an extra-curricular activity at Nowra High School with classes flourishing in years 8 to 12. The classes have helped students grow as dancers and has offered opportunities to perform for mass audiences, collaborate with industry professionals, and work toward outstanding high school certificate (HSC) results.
