Committee members are spending the day making sure none of the 100 stewards and judges go hungry.
Chief catering officer for the Nowra Show Committee, Chris Cook said it’s a big effort from all members.
“We call ourselves the ‘Showgirl and Social Committee’ and all the ladies are fabulous,” she said.
“We started cooking a couple of weeks ago and we’ve been freezing what we can along the way.”
With countless slices and cakes on the menu, Chris and her team will again keep the goods up to judges and stewards again tomorrow.
They’ll also make sure the cafe and the Burger Bar is stocked full of treats for showgoers.

“I’ve been involved with it for the last ten years and I really enjoy it,” she said.
“The biggest challenge is just working with the space and time we have, everything happens so quickly.”
Things were also heating up in the pavilion today, with all the baked goods and relishes being judged.
Berry judge Lorna Knapp said there’s a few secrets to the perfect batch of scones or damper.
“They’re all so different but for me the thing is flavour and they’ve got to look reasonable,” she said.
“They’ve got be neat, have good colour and not be burnt.
“They’re straight out if they’re burnt.”
Jamberoo judge Beth Downes has more than 40 years experience and shared her top tips for aspiring banana and fruitcake bakers.
“The banana cake has to have a nice colours and slim icing, definitely not thick icing,” she said.
“The fruit cake has to be balanced, mellow and the fruit has to be all the one size, the fruitcakes here today have all been to a very high standard.”
A CWA Land cookery judge, Mrs Downes knows what she’s talking about.
Show gates open at 8am tomorrow and will draw to a close at 10pm on Saturday, but not before the fireworks spectacular at 9.30pm.
