Berry’s CORE Integrated Solutions and Electrical and Telecommunications health safety environment and quality general manager Gaye Cameron said it was an opportunity to boost youth employment in the trade industry.
She said the recruitment process was very competitive and was overwhelmed to see the number of students who sought a career in their chosen trade.
“Our businesses are growing and we are pleased to have these apprentices come on board, learn their trade, and grow with the company,” she said.
The apprentices started work with the company’s branches in the Lower Hunter region, western Sydney and metro areas and the South Coast this week, and will continue their studies at nearby TAFE colleges.
Nine of the apprentices, who started work this week, recently celebrated the start of their careers with company staff and local members of council in Berry.
