A man has been charged after he allegedly used a cigarette lighter to try and ignite spilled fuel at a service station in East Nowra on Sunday.

Shoalhaven police were called to Mobil on Kalandar Street about 9.30am on Sunday to reports a man was alarming staff and customers with his behaviour.
When officers arrived they allege the 42-year-old man from South Nowra had wrapped himself in fuel hoses and was standing near puddles of petrol with a lighter.
Police said a perimeter was established and officers began negotiating with the man, however they soon forced him to the ground.
He was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with destroy or damage property and two counts of resist officer in execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear in Nowra Local Court on Monday.
Fire and Rescue and NSW firefighters attended the scene and rendered the area safe.
