‘Breakfast by the Bay and Callala Citizen of the Year Award’ will be held on Tuesday, January 26 at Bicentennial Park, Lackersteen Street, Callala Bay.
The event is now in its eighth year and is organised by the Callala Bay Community Association and Shoalhaven City Council.
Organisers said it’s often attended by the mayor, federal, state and local members of parliament and council.
The celebration begins at 8am with the Callala Bay Rural Fire Service volunteers selling bacon and egg rolls and sausage sandwiches. A coffee van will also be making sure everyone gets their morning hit.
‘Mumbo the Clown’ will be entertaining the children with activities and entertainment.
A family cricket day will also be a highlight, with Callala Bay versus Callala Beach and Myola. The match will be held at the Callala RSL Country Club Oval, Callala Beach Road, Callala Beach.
Register for the cricket teams at the RSL club front desk or call the club on 4446 5313 before January 24. Team selection starts at 11 am.
A sausage sizzle is being donated by Callala RSL Country Club. Drinks can be purchased from the club. A gold coin donation will see all proceeds go to cancer research. Bring along hats, sunscreen, chairs and eskys.
Organisers are encouraging everyone to show your community spirit, come along to both event, get together to celebrate Australia’s Day, renew old friendships and meet new ones.
