5 – A Country Practice
Who could forget Fatso the wombat from A Country Practice.
The series ran from 1981 to 1993 on the Seven network.
4 – The Silver Brumby
This animated children's series was written by Jon Stephens and Judy Malmgren and is based on Elyne Mitchell's Silver Brumby books.
It ran from 1994 and 1998 and was originally broadcast on the Nine Network.
3 – Wilfred
This comedy series ran for two seasons and follows the lives of Wilfred the dog, his owner Sarah, and her boyfriend Adam, who sees Wilfred as a man in a dog suit.
It was created by Adam Zwar, Jason Gann and Tony Rogers based on their award-winning 2002 short film and is directed by Tony Rogers, produced by Jenny Livingston and stars Gann, Zwar and Cindy Waddingham.
An American remake has since been made and aired in 2011.
2 – Blinky Bill
This animated television series is based on Dorothy Wall's books about Blinky Bill.
The series aired from 1993 to 1995 (and again from 2004) and tells the story of Blinky Bill and his family and friends.
1 – Skippy
Skippy aired from 1968 to 1970 telling the story of a young bog and his pet kangaroo.
It was created by Australian actor John McCallum.
