Held on Sunday, December 6, the event supports local charities, Nowra Family Support Services and the Salvation Army.
The Toy Run aims to provide toys and gifts for local children who may not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas.
The Toy Run is organised by the South Coast Branch of the Ulysses Club who encourage riders from other clubs or individuals to come along and join them for this worthwhile cause.
Entry for the event is a new unwrapped toy and Club Secretary, Mike Leonard, advised that whilst all donations are gratefully accepted fluffy toys are discouraged.
“Organisers would particularly like to see gifts donated for boys and girls in the 10-13 years age range as this group is often missed out in favour of younger children,” he said.
Riders meet at Shoalhaven Council car park from 10.30am where coffee, tea etc will be available for purchase.
Santa will lead the ride out at 11.45am sharp for Berry Bowling Club where participants can purchase sausage sandwiches and drinks. Badges, key rings and patches will be on sale at the event.
Riders are encouraged to decorate their bikes to add to the Christmas spirit and compete to win a prize.
The Toy Run is now in its 25th year and is an excellent way to give to the community and show that motorcyclists are caring and concerned community members too.
Donations of non-perishable food items are also gratefully accepted to help local families who may be finding it tough at this time of the year.
Both Nowra Family Support Services and the Salvation Army are working hard to brighten up Christmas for many local families.
You don't need to own a motorcycle to donate - come along on the day with your gift or contact event organiser, Narelle Mousdale, on 0411 366 440 for drop off/pick up details.
